Ballard County Middle School Reviews

I'm a student and I think Ballard is a great place to go to school it's very easy to make friends their and our teachers are very great to the students. Yes I do agree that we don't have much Bomber Pride and our academics are very poor.

I appreciate the opportunity for EVERYONE to express their opinions... that's what makes our country so great! Moreover, I appreciate the opportunity to offer a rebuttle to a couple of the reviews posted here. First, Ballard County Middle School's students and staff work very hard every day to achieve academic success. To say, 'The academics are not that good...' and 'the academics are just so so' is simply false. Each year, for the past five years our state test scores have had significant gains. One needs to only click on the TEST SCORES tab above to see the most recent year's results. At BCMS, student learning is priority, and it shows. And to say that teachers are counting the minutes until the day is over, one needs only to look at the parking lot after 3:00 pm. Most staff work until 4:00 o'clock.

Ballard County Schools,in general, have a beautiful new facility on the outside. On the inside, most teachers are cranky and counting the minutes until the day is over. The academics are not that good and the athletic department is embarrassing. The Bomber Pride is just not there anymore. I have always been told that beauty is only skin deep and that it's what's on the inside that matters! I would love to see that Bomber Pride shine again!

The band program has a really involved teacher, Kelley Ray, who's great with the students. He wants them to enjoy band/marching band and not feel totally stressed out. My son has been in band for the last three years, and if it had not been for Mr. Ray's encouragement he wouldn't be there now. My son is totally into music now because of all he's learned in the band program.

If it's atheletics your after choose another school. The academics are so so. About half of the teaching staff are caring individuals. The rest should stay home. At this school it it all about who you are.
